Day 1 - No Smoking

It is 2:30 and I have not had a cig. since I woke up. The medicine is really working, I don't crave it. But I am confused as to what to do with my down time. My normal smoke break times at work--- what am I supposed to do? Nothing? Or do I go outside and take a short walk? At home when I am done everything else and I am ready to relax, what do I do?


Ok, I feel better.

Any suggestions?

I like the going for a walk idea. At home, well, grab a yoga mat and do some stretches. You can never be too flexible, you know what I mean?

I think cigs are an appetite suppressant, so it's gonna be tough. Keep up the exercising and good luck.

Thanks for the yoga idea. I have never done it, so maybe I could get a beginner video and learn some basics.

I was worried after i had dinner last night about how bad I would wanna smoke. Not bad at all. And I refused to eat a bunch of junk last night ....... I am trying... Thanks, Nicole

If you have a place to walk, I suggest walking around the parking lot or up the street so that you have something else to do during the time you would have smoked before. It'll also make you feel better. If you have an ipod or something take that and walk all over. If you can't get out and walk, take 15 to read a book.

Super grats on stopping smoking! Yay!

I am in the midst of a self designed weight loss plan - and I am a boredom / stress eater - everytime I want to pop food in my mouth, I drink water. It has worked so far, and it's keeping me healthy.

The walk, yoga and IPod sound like super ideas, too - and hey - all the options lead to even more self improvement!

Good for you! I am so impressed you are quiting! I suggest you start taking up sometime of physical activity to replace smoking. I've never smoked so I can't say that will work but it's worth a try.

1218 - I come up with the idea that everytime I wanted a cig, I would "drop and give me 20" hahaha, but I can only do 12 real pushups. :( I'll figure something out. By next Thirsday I want to have something to fill the void. Thanks for the encouragement!!
